Francesca Gagliardi, as a plastic artist, has focused her work on femininity ambivalence, using
female objects such as lace or lipsticks that she transposes in materials and patterns, usually
associated with the art of war (iron or bronze, bullets, spears, helmets).
New artist at the Galerie Géraldine Banier, her works named “Necklace”, “Bullets”, “Cartucerra”,
“Home”, “Spear”, “Spears heads” and “Helmet”, illustrate her researches on the paradoxical female
seduction. The objects swing from one field to the other: exposed to a dreadful daily life, these
seduction weapons become defensive ones. Through “The Art of war”, the artist shows the drifts of
a society of appearances, where the art of make-up and the art of war are very much alike.
The Gallery Géraldine Banier has presented a solo show of Francesca Gaglardi at Art Paris Art Fair in March 2015.
